After 14 wonderful visits to Anfi in late January/early February each year, when life at home is such an anti-climax after the festive season, and the weather so grey, we are sad that we are no longer able to travel abroad. At that time of year the weather in the south of the island is always sunny and hot without being too hot.

Our first sight of Anfi 14 years ago had a real WOW factor, which has never diminished. It is immaculately clean, feels very safe and never feels crowded. As we could sleep 4 in the apartment we've brought a number of friends and family to join us, and they too have all been bowled over by it. We also made friends with people who go at the same time each year - one advantage of fixed weeks; so if we came by ourselves there was still plenty of company if one wished. We met these friends originally through joining in with the activities. There is always something to do if lying in the sun all day is not your thing. Exploring the island is a very easy option, with the ferry coming into Anfi, or using the excellent local bus service. Walking around the area is pleasant too, or maybe a stroll along the coast to Arguiniguin, with some nice refreshment stops en route. Another activity that we enjoyed greatly was the fun-golf 18-hole putting course. One of the first things to be packed for the holiday were our two collapsable putters

Being a keen swimmer a ground floor apartment, next to a pool, long enough to feel exercised, was a big advantage. It was so nice to lie and sun ourselves on our own patio, then walk 30 steps to the pool to cool off. After some good exercise it was then quick and easy to have a shower, or dry off in the sun on our own patio. This exercise was very welcome after indulging in the many and varied eateries in the resort. We also loved swimming in the warm sea.

Puerto Anfi has always been our favourite as it feels as though we are in the hub of the resort; but with little noise at our end of the block. We have enjoyed entertaining friends from other resorts, to lunch on our patio The patio feels bigger than the balconies above. I think they all go away a little envious of us, as there is no doubt Anfi, as a resort, surpasses most other places on the island.
