Dona Lola is an RCI Gold Crown resort in Calahonda, Costa del Sol, situated between Marbella and Fuengirola.

The complex slopes gently from the main road to the beach. It has 3 swimming pools.  The largest set beside the sea curves around the restaurant and bar and has plenty of sun loungers. It is here that the children meet for the kid's club.  The second smaller heated pool is set in the well maintained gardens is for adults only.  The third is an indoor pool which is part of the extensive gym and beauty facilities. This building also houses snooker tables and the well run reception.  Outdoor sporting facilities also include tennis courts and football tournaments.  By  reception is a bar serving drinks and snacks with a large patio area with seating and parasols. This is where most of the evening entertainment occurs.  The ground floor apartment in a block of 8 fronts onto a small lawn overlooking the sea (which can be reached by steps nearby.  From the spacious well furnished veranda you can have breakfast watching the fishing boats.

The 1 bed apartment is well equipped with a full kitchen. The lounge, with sofa bed, and bedroom are air conditioned.  At the entrance to Dona Lola is a parade of bars and restaurants and a well stocked  small supermarket.  Across the road is a larger supermarket, bars restaurants and shops.  There is a good, cheap regular bus service to both Marbella and Fuengirola. Taxis are available from reception.

Dona Lola put on a weekly coach to Fuengirola's huge Tuesday market. Other places to visit are the very pretty village of Mijas, Ronda and the lakes.  My daughter learnt to swim in the large pool where she made friends, some of which she still has today. Dona Lola is a very friendly and safe place for children and because of its situation also gives freedom for young teenagers.  I have recently retired and  wish to visit more of the world.  My daughter has just bought a house which is why I'm reluctantly selling. We spent the best part of 20 years holidaying here.
