This very well presented 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment is at Club Marbella and is one of the five Crown Resorts in Calahonda and La Riviera. Crown Resorts are owned by the members, run by the members for the members via an elected committee. Therefore it is not run by a management group seeking profits but by a committee elected  at an annual AGM.

The advantage of being with Crown Resorts is that you can transfer your stay between any of the resorts free of charge. An in- house transfer. The resorts are Club Marbella, Club Delta Mar, Club Calahonda, Club Riviera and Club Caronte. So for the past few years we have been able to have a change of scenery and have stayed in Marbella, Riviera, and Delta Mar. But our favourite is Delta Mar, with its beautiful gardens and views. The clubs are situated at Calahonda and La Riviera which are small residential areas between the metropolises of Malaga and Marbella, both about 20 mins away, and 10 mins from the holiday resort of Fuengirola. There are no high rise hotels here and the ambience is more like living like a local  rather than being in ' holiday land'. There are, however, plenty of restaurants and bars around to wander out to on an evening.

The shops and beaches are both within an easy 5-10 minute walk and the fabulous marina and beach at Cabopino is just outside Calahonda. 5 mins in car.

The apartment is a fixed week. Week 43. Which is the half term week at the end of October. It has been a great winter sun get- away for us for the past 14 years.  The apartment is a floating apartment, which means we don't have to stay in the same apartment each year and can, more or less, choose our own apartment from any of the 5 resorts. It is generally reasonably quiet at this time of the year, just as we like it, and therefore our request for specific apartments have been mostly granted.

We are looking to sell as our daughter has purchased a property in Tenerife, so we will be now going there for our winter sun. However, we will have very fond memories of 14 years of staying with Crown Resorts. The family friendly atmosphere, the different vibe of each resort, the friendly staff, the wide array of amenities ( they even have a free mini bus that runs between each of the resorts and the beach, which means you don't necessarily need a car), and the location which is not too big nor yet not too small. Just right.
