Stunningly located against a backdrop of the Sierra Mijas mountains, this resort is golfers’ heaven for its several 18-hole courses and clubhouse set in a charming, traditional Andalusian farmhouse. On offer are one-, two- and three-bedroom timeshare units, sleeping between two and eight persons and with fully fitted kitchens for a great self-catering holiday.

The units come as pueblo-style cottages and detached, private villas, all set in groups around the central outdoor swimming pool. Furnishings are comfortable and the units are spacious, bright and include amenities such as TVs, patios, en-suite facilities and time and trouble-saving dishwashers.

On site you’ll find a snack bar and car rental, and the beach with its waterskiing, diving and windsurfing is just under a kilometre away. Nearby are a health club, casino, medical facilities, live evening entertainment, horseback riding and a selection of restaurants and bars. The area is very quiet and peaceful, with lashings of natural beauty, but you’ll need a hired car to get the best out of your holiday.

Those looking for a night out should head to the neighbouring holiday resort of Fuengirola. There’s good choice of bars and eateries, and history buffs will enjoy the Moorish castle and the ruins of the Roman city. The charming marina and its harbourside eateries are perfect for a romantic dinner.
