The MacDonald Dona Lola resort is located not far from Marbella in Andalucia, Spain.  It is 28km from Malaga, which is the nearest major airport, and is convenient for places like Marbella, Fuengirola, Puerto Banus, Ronda and pretty villages like Mijas. There are very good beaches at Fuengirola, Marbella and Cabo Pino, and there are plenty of nearby bars and restaurants.  There is an on-site shop  and behind the resort is a complex including banks and a large supermarket.

Dona Lola extends right up to the beach, and is set in flower-filled gardens with palm trees, tropical plants and waterfalls.  It has two outdoor pools including one with an extension for the very young and another for adults only. It also boasts cafes/bars, a restaurant, tennis courts and a leisure centre, and has a spa with a fully equipped gymnasium, exercise room, heated swimming pool, snooker room and health and beauty treatments. There are several excellent golf courses nearby, and the resort offers trips out, which have included for example Granada, Gibraltar, Mijas, a local market and theme parks.  Other activities have included a kids' club in the summer, and evening entertainment such as  flamenco shows, BBQ s, quiz nights etc, and car hire is available on request.

Our apartment is on the second floor - no lift - and the balcony at the front provides a magnificent view over the resort and the Mediterranean Sea.  The picture shown here was probably taken from our balcony!  We have an air-conditioned lounge/diner/kitchen, and a double bedroom overlooking a waterfall and attractive gardens to the rear. The lounge has a convertible sofa for sleeping 2 more if required, and has a digital wide screen TV with English, Spanish, French and German channels and access to on demand movies and games.  The bathroom includes both bath and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking facilities, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher (there are washing machine facilities in an adjacent block). We have free Wi-Fi Internet access for owners and a small safe, and there is plenty of parking just behind our apartment by the tennis courts.

Our weeks for sale are 34 (late August), 35 (late August/the first few days of September) and 51 (the week before Christmas). Dona Lola is an RCI Gold Crown Resort and also a Select Resort of  Interval International.  As very satisfied owners and RCI members for many years we have also exchanged to other resorts in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Germany, Holland, the USA and the UK.  Sadly we are having to sell following a death in the family.
