We first acquired our Points through the Grand Vacation Club in England in 1997 and have found the Points system perfectly flexible, having enjoyed so many types of holiday with them both in directly owned accommodation / resorts, and in Interval International resorts. We originally acquired 50 Points which are now designated as 5000 Points. The purchase value remains the same!

We never wanted to acquire a time share in a property, and felt there was more freedom in the Points system, which we are supporters of.

We have found Diamond Resorts (the current holders of our Points) to be a very professional organization, with very high standards in both management and accommodation. The staff are also very friendly, professional, and helpful. We have stayed in Cottages, Apartments and Studios, all to the same high standards. Most of the resorts have included spa and swimming pools, as well as sports facilities, all of which are great for family holidays.

We have never had a disappointment where we have vacationed. Many of our holidays were taken with our two children when they were in their teens and the accommodation, we picked was always very child friendly and fully enjoyed by the four of us.

Our use of the points has been mainly in Europe (Italy, France, Spain - Minorca & Majorca, Austria and throughout GB), but we have also used the points in Florida and Venezuela and Canada. We are proud of the fact we learnt to ski in the Resort at Schladming and have actually vacationed there 3 times!

As we are at retirement age now, and we only own a modest amount of points (we have never increased our holding since 1997) we have had to decide whether to increase the points, sell them or hold on to what we already have. We asked our children for their opinion. Our son (now 36) is in the tourist industry and runs a fast-growing Adventure Holiday Company he formed 10 years ago. As he and his sister do not envisage wanting our Points long term, we have taken the sad decision to sell them in order to concentrate on alternative holiday plans from those we have adopted for the past 20 years.

We recommend our Points to either a beginner who wants to dip their toes into Diamond Resorts and Interval International, or for an existing member who wants to add to their current holding.
