Encantada in Kissimmee, Florida USA is 42km from Orlando Airport and is ideally placed for visiting the theme parks in the Orlando area. The accommodation is beautiful with everything you need from a washing machine to a Jacuzzi on the patio to relax in at the end of the day when the kids go to bed exhausted. As usual in this area you'll need a car as Encantada is close to the parks, but far enough away to be peaceful and tranquil. There are good sized pools and a lovely lake to wander around. There is a children's playground, pool table and lots of other amenities but we were always too busy at the theme parks to use them.

Duchally, Auchterarder, Perthshire, Scotland is near the home of golf at Gleneagles and is set in beautiful surroundings with lovely accommodation which we took friends to. The wheelchair adapted lodge was perfect and suitable as described, which isn't always the case. Plenty to do on site; swimming pool, sauna, kids playground etc. A lovely restaurant in the hotel and this has our recommendation. There are many things to do in the area, both indoor and outdoor activities. It's a short journey from Glasgow or Edinburgh Airports.

Paradise, Adeje, Las Americas, Tenerife is 21km from Tenerife South Airport. This is an ideal resort with the best of both Worlds; close enough to the biz if you want that and far enough away to be relaxing and quiet. There's plenty to do on site with the usual pools, and various games or sports to suit most families. Zachary's restaurant on site is highly recommended with meals to suit all tastes. The excellent accommodation has everything you need and lovely views from the balcony where you can have a leisurely breakfast and Mount Teide in background which is worth a visit. If you like the beach you're a 10-15-minute walk away.

Sunningdale in San Miguel De Abona on Golf Del Sur, Tenerife is only 5km from Tenerife South Airport and is ideally placed for golfers. Car hire would be needed for this area. We haven't stayed in this resort but visited friends there and can recommend it.

Mijas Costa, near Fuengirola, Spain is 32km from Malaga Airport, about 30 mins) This is a huge resort complex separated into several sections including San Diego Suites and Marina Del Sol and is across a busy road from miles of beach accessible by tunnel or bridge. In one direction you can walk to Fuengirola along the beach front or go by bus (opposite the resort) and in the other direction it is near Marbella and Puerto Banus with a day trip to Gibraltar highly recommended (remember to take your passport). Can also recommend the excellent Land Rover Safari which takes you off road to the highest point of the area and provides lots of local knowledge and information. Many other trips are available.

San Diego Suites has a better standard of accommodation and we were allocated adjoining accommodation which was ideal for our 3-generation family holiday. Marina Del Sol is still good accommodation and is situated up a hill with stunning views across the sea. There is a road train on site which goes around the complex to take you from area to area. There are swimming pools, horse riding, Spa, and beauty treatments etc and great entertainment on site in the Sunset Lounge with loads of activities for all. Safari restaurant is a must for a wonderful meal and loads to choose from to suit all tastes.
