The beauty of owning a Marriott Vacation Club time share (MVC) is that, unlike most other timeshares, the choice of resorts/hotels to choose from is immense and keeps growing. At the last count, we could go to more than 50 resorts all over the world. MVC also allows you to exchange your points with other time share associations. Club points can be used at Marriott resorts; Club Connection Properties; exchange through Interval International; and Interval International resorts. One can also convert/add to Marriott (hotel) Rewards points. And the best part, one can avail the timeshare at any time of the year!

Our annual allocation is for 3300 points. These can be banked for a year. In principal, you can avail of 6600 points after 12 months. We currently have more than 8500 points in our account till end December 2018. Depending on the resort/hotel you visit this can buy more than a week's stay for a couple. MVC also allows you to top up the days by paying extra.

As a family, we have been avid travellers. MVC has been an integral part of our travel plans. In the last five years, we have used our timeshare to visit MVC's resort of Khao Lak in Phuket Thailand; Bali Indonesia; Marriott Singapore and Marriott San Francisco. All the places we have visited were 4 to 5-star accommodation.

The Marriott villas (2-3 bedrooms sleeping 6 people) in Khao Lak are on the beach, with their own private pool. Phuket has some of the best golf courses in the world. We have combined our holidays with friends to play daily golf at some of the most scenic courses imaginable. All this, while the wives shop and enjoy eating fantastic Thai cuisine. The trip to Bali was magical, we stayed at the Marriott's Bali Nusa Dua Gardens with it's fabulous surroundings and cultural events.

For the trips to Singapore and San Francisco we exchanged our MVC points to avail of hotel stays in prime locations. Orchard St in Singapore and Union Square in San Francisco.........all designer shops, top class eateries within walking distance. We have also used our MVC points to book our son's stay at the Singapore Marriott.

Having crossed into our 60s, we are slowing down. Most of our plans for holidays are to visit our children. Health issues are also concerns. Hence the desire to sell our timeshare at a hugely discounted price.
