Points to us are a brilliant way of getting the type of holidays we enjoyed so much. We purchased pure points from RCI with no affiliation to any resort and the flexibility we achieved as a result was just what we wanted. We do not like going back to the same resort year after year although to be fair we have returned to one resort simply because we enjoyed it so much. The beauty of pure points is that you contact RCI say where you want to go and they do the rest.

It is true to say that the majority of our holidays have been in Europe but we have also used the points to visit the USA on four occasions. Each visit to the USA was for a minimum of 4 weeks and we moved around different locations on each trip. We toured the west coast, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Route 66 through Arizona on one holiday and when were there it was the first time it had snowed in 7 years at the Grand Canyon. We also saw the red rocks of Monument Valley covered in snow which was amazing.
On another holiday we went to New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina and rode around the city on laid back tricycles. Great fun.
Our last trip to the USA was for 5 weeks in Florida moving around for a week here, a week there. Two of my wife's ambitions were to take a hot air balloon ride and swim with Manatees both of which she managed to do before she sadly passed away a couple of years ago. Our two favourite resorts of all time are Lawrence Welk, San Diego and Cedar Keys, Florida, very different but both absolutely wonderful and we would not have enjoyed them without the points.

We have visited the Canary islands 7 times using points usually around Christmas time so we could enjoy the wonderful warm sunny climate. Tenerife was our favourite.

The reason for putting the points up for sale is that since my wife died, the lure of holidays has diminished and this year the points were used to enable my son and his family to take their first holiday in several years. I will still use the points but not to the extent that we did in the past.
