Vila Gale is one of only three beachfront hotels in Vilamoura and, according to Tripadvisor, is a favourite with everyone who’s stayed there, with many coming back several times. Even the food in the Versatil restaurant gets praise, as do the Lobby Bar and Pool Bar, and family visitors appreciate the kids’ club and children’s playground for their facilities and friendly staff.

Vila Gale Ampalius is an all-time favourite with golfers for its location close to several excellent courses. The hotel provides transport to your preferred course, with the region well-know for its golfing facilities. Timeshare owners and renters are just a few steps from Vilamoura’s casino and the great choice of restaurants, bars and cafes backing the marina.

Off-site activities give an amazing choice of things to do, including horse riding, watersports, visiting the ruins of a Roman bathhouse with its beautiful mosaic floors, and testing your skills at the shooting range. Nightlife here is lively but rarely riotous, and evening entertainment is had on the hotel complex or in Vilamoura’s nightclubs.

Daytrips with a hired car are the best way to see the natural beauty of the Algarve, legendarily famous for wild coastal scenery as well as picture-perfect beaches and historic landmarks. Silves, the region’s first capital, has a picturesque Moorish fort, and the mountains of the interior give amazing options for hiking, walking and discovering traditional villages.
