We see the salt flats as the plane banks to land at Faro airport, smell of bbqs in the air on the way to 4seasons at Vilamoura where we have had many happy weeks-in beautiful, spacious apartments, sun, breakfasts on the balcony, friendly staff and feeling thoroughly spoiled, relaxed and sun kissed.

An idyllic holiday for us with numerous friends and family since 1991 ,very reluctant to sell it. Very happy memories in a beautiful location with swimming pools surrounded by well tended gardens and overlooking the golf courses dotted with Mediterranean pine trees -paradise!

Lunch on the terrace by the beach pool, different beach every day and 100s of good restaurants to find in the area and beyond.Trips to the Old Village for a lunchtime beer in the sun......just strolling. Markets with colourful people and a variety of goods to take home (this market used to take place along the beach at first but was moved to further into the town maybe for safety issues!)

Enjoyed holidays at Vilamoura at various months of the year, May, September, October, December. Christmas at 4seasons -a sunny December. The apartment with underfloor heating (bliss in the evenings, light clothing during the day) a trip to the beach at Albufeira, a walk and a brandy and cake in a cafe as dusk approached and then out for dinner in the evening in the dark.......memorable. People watching in a harbour cafe, delights of a cataplana and back at base enjoying a drink in the pool bar after swimming and sunbathing.

1 week isn't enough to enjoy the delights of this resort. So much to do in the area, beaches, trains, water sports and trips further into Portugal, Lagos, hilly regions where the cork oaks grow and the beautiful weather. Not least the freshest fish sold in the fish market and brought back to cook in the lovely kitchen in the apartment at 4seasons. The apartments have their own front doors, utility room and the kitchen area and dining areas are designed for casual or more formal occasions. A home from home in the sun.
