Part of the large Elite Fuerteventura Club in the charming Fuerteventura town of El Castillo, the Elite Suites is an exclusive place. It features luxury, one-bedroom timeshare units which are beautifully turned out and come with lots of extras, including private Jacuzzi.

The timeshare units here are very private, with a gated set up that includes private garden and barbecue, along with a modern lounge and a fully-fitted kitchen complete with quality hob, dishwasher and microwave. The glitzy bathroom features a thermostatic massage shower, while the bedroom and lounge offer a flat-screen TV.

Just outside is a delightful terrace area with a barbecue, dining table and chairs, along with a comfy couch and Jacuzzi, while a short walk from the units is a central swimming pool with a sizeable children’s pool attached. There is also a bar nearby and a club which features live entertainment on selected nights, along with a supermarket and a restaurant.

The beach at El Castillo is about 10 minutes away from the resort on foot. Here there is nice sunbathing, swimming, boating, waterskiing and windsurfing, with further options to scuba diving and go dolphin-spotting. It is a large beach flanked by a marina and an excellent selection of eateries, shops and bars. This is also good for kids as it gets as it is hemmed in by the marina and a headland. Alternatively, there are also several beaches farther down the coast, while to the north is some beautiful coastal driving and walking.

El Castillo has excellent facilities as it is the main community on Fuerteventura. There are many shops, restaurants and bars to take in behind the harbour and up the hill, along with some interesting sightseeing at the Martello tower castle. Also near Elite Suites are a couple of quality golf courses, including the well-rated Salinas de Antigua Club.

Getting to Elite Suites is straightforward as it is a mere 15kms from Fuerteventura Airport. Shuttle buses run direct to the timeshare resort but there are also taxis and public buses—the Puerto del Rosario to El Castillo bus makes a stop here. The best way to explore the rest of the island is to pick up a hire car, especially if taking in the big national parks in the south and west of Fuerteventura.
