Club Alegria Caleta de Fuste Canary Islands

Located within the charming town of El Castillo, on what is often labeled as the most relaxing of the Canary Islands, is the low-key Club Algeria timeshare resort. Offering a relaxing ambience and set within reach of a marina, a beach and many good restaurants, it is perfect for families and couples visiting Fuerteventura, with its selection of attractive timeshare apartments, extensive facilities and privacy.

The outdoor pool at Club Alegria is set right in the centre of the resort complex and is the focal point, featuring a large area for sunbathing and relaxing, and a kids’ section at one end. There is also live entertainment available at the resort bar nearby, along with an on-site grocery store.

Club Algeria’s bright and breezy studios and timeshare apartments come as one- and two-bedroom varieties, with partial or full kitchen with oven and/or and refrigerator. The lounge area looks out onto a spacious balcony, from where fine sea views can be enjoyed. The decor, meanwhile, is in-keeping with the Canary Islands; minimalist and Mediterranean.

The beach is a few minutes on foot from Club Algeria and features many options for enjoying water sports, including boat rides and waterskiing. There is also the chance to go scuba diving and windsurfing offshore, plus tours get visitors within range of the local dolphin populace and turtles. The wide expanse of sand here is sheltered and hemmed in by a small marina and headland, making it perfect for kids’ safety. Small shops, restaurants and bars are nearby.

El Castillo (formally Caleta de Fuste or Costa Caleta) is a major development on the east coast of the island. Along with its hotels and timeshare resorts are numerous shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars. For sightseeing, be sure to check out the 18th century Martello tower castle in the harbour, which was built by Claudio de Lisne. In addition are a couple of world class golf courses just south of Club Alegria and the harbour, as well as the Fuerteventura and Salinas de Antigua courses.

One of the best things about having a timeshare at this resort is that Fuerteventura Airport is only 15kms or so away to the north, with island capital of Puerto del Rosario about the same distance away. Public buses and shuttles run between the capital and El Castillo, going past the airport, although a hire car is your best bet for exploring the island.
