Castillo Beach Club, Fuerteventura

Castillo Beach Club is situated in Caleta de Fuste on the island of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa and politically linked to Spain. The island is popular for its beaches and for wind and kite surfers. The Club is a small, friendly resort built in traditional Canarian style and only 4m/6k from the airport - a bonus after a long journey! The two weeks offered are floating weeks and you have a choice of Wednesday or Saturday as travel days.

The unit is a bungalow which has a small patio screened by flowering shrubs. It will sleep four and has a salon with tv and a sofa bed, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.

On site is a pleasant outdoor swimming pool, a sauna/steam room, exercise room, tennis court and laundry facilities. Car hire can be arranged. There is a grocery store nearby, a playground and entertainment venues as well as restaurants offering a range of different cuisines including the chance to sample traditional Canarian food.

The Club is 1m/1.6k from the 18 hole Fuerteventura Golf Club course and about half a mile from the marina. Tour offices offer a variety of excursions from boat/fishing trips to exploration of the natural features of the island. Such is the biological importance of some of these areas that the island was given the recognition 'biosphere reserve' by UNESCO in 2009.

We have made exchanges of our weeks through Interval International, mostly in the Canary and Balearic Islands and the UK but also to Disney Orlando.

We are reluctant to give up our weeks but age and lack of mobility mean we are no longer able to take advantage of them or to make exchanges.
