Forests filled with flora and fauna grow around the Wilderness Dunes retreat in the middle of South Africa's stunning southern coast. A lengthy stretch of beach coastline awaits guests about 220 steps from their luxury self-catering chalets.
Despite their unassuming exterior, these timeshares feature the utmost in modern conveniences on the inside. The larger units contain both a loft and two standard bedrooms, but smaller two- and one-bedroom units are also available. Internet access and DSTV are provided in all units, while barbecue areas and sun decks stand just outside the door.
There are DVD players available for rent and a games room featuring a television with a Nintendo Wii connection. The games room also includes a coin operated pool table, darts, table tennis, cards, dominoes, and a wide variety of puzzles.
However, the most enjoyable activities of all are found along the breathtakingly beautiful Garden Route to the south and the Wilderness National Park and Ebb Flow to the north. The July to December period is prime Southern Right Whale watching time. Seals, dolphins, and many other marine creatures swim around the soft coral reefs beneath the ocean’s surface.
A charming steam train is the most relaxed way to travel between the communities of Knysna and George, the latter of which is also the location of the nearest airport to the Gold Crown Resort of Wilderness Dunes.
