Located right in Tenerife’s busiest resort area of Playa de las Americas is the relatively tranquil timeshare complex, Colonial Village. Though at the heart of the action, this timeshare is a haven away from the busy nightspots of this bustling resort, yet offers easy access to the beach in minutes.

This small timeshare resort has excellent facilities and a more personal service in comparison with many other hotels and resorts in this area. It has an open pool area with lots of terrace space and lush gardens. Timeshare units at the Colonial Village are nicely equipped with modern conveniences and are decorated in the soothing colours of the region.

There’s a small kitchen area with cooking facilities and an easy-going lounge with sofa and television, while lots of restaurants and shops can be found within a short walking distance, along with plenty of bars and live entertainment. All types of water sports can be enjoyed on or just off the beach, which is only 200m away.

Tenerife’s largest resort is as big for its nightlife and nightly entertainment as it is for the sun and sand, and guests can easily access all the trappings as well as the famous Playa de las Americas promenade. This busy stretch offers access all the way to the alternative resort town of Los Cristianos.

The black-sand beaches are launching points for jet-skiing, banana boating and parasailing adventures. Parasols and sun loungers are de rigueur at all of Playa de las Americas’ beaches, and you can quickly defer to the other main facets of the resort for a change from the beach, such as bungee jumping, video arcades and water parks. Aqualand is especially close to the Colonial Village and is perfect for guests with kids. Las Americas is also close to Teide National Park, which hosts Spain’s highest mountain—Mount Teide—and is excellent for hiking and pretty drives.

Las Americas is especially noted for its nightlife, however, so don’t forget to hit the town to take in the Veronicas bar areas. The action here goes on all night in its wall-to-wall bars and clubs. Alternatively, for something more measured and with good food, try the Troviscas area farther north.

A shuttle runs around las Americas, passing by the Colonial Village timeshare resort, while free buses to various tourist and residential areas of the town are also available. Playa de las Americas is well situated for easy access to South Tenerife Airport.
