Quarry Cottage is an attractive traditional stone and slate detached single storey house that nestles among the trees in an elevated and private position with lovely views. Woodland paths start close by giving direct access to the forest, Gunpowder Trail, the gentle path to the dam and beyond providing wonderful hill walking and trail running. The open plan living area and wood burner provide a cosy base from which to explore the beautiful region from rugged peninsulas and the islands to boutiques and bistros of Oban and quaint Crinan at the end of the Crinan Canal. The area has endless delights, mainly of unspoilt natural beauty.

The accommodation comprises 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), a spacious living room with sofa bed (sleeps up to 6) and 2 bathrooms. A hallway from the sitting room leads to the large double bedroom, that is at the front of the cottage, with hallway leading to a shower room (with shower, w.c. & wash-hand basin). The spacious twin bedroom and bathroom (with bath, over-bath electric shower, w.c. and wash-hand basin) are to the rear of the building. The open-plan kitchen (with oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave & dishwasher) adjoins the dining / sitting room with woodburning stove and door leading into a gravelled seating area at the front of the cottage with lovely views to the loch. There is a flat Screen TV with Freeview, DVD, CD or iPod Dock, onsite parking and pets are welcome. The properties are maintained to a high standard with constant attention to upkeep.

Melfort Village is a holiday ownership community created in the 1980's and comprises 32 self-catering holiday properties situated in beautiful mature grounds, that are maintained to a high standard, 16 miles south of Oban. Facilities include a swimming pool and jacuzzi, bar and café, beauty therapy and treatment room, adult relaxation and sports room, family games room, fishing lochan, all weather tennis court, play park, paddock, putting green, reception, activity booking centre and gift shop.

The village is situated in a secluded and picturesque site at the end of Loch Melfort in Argyll on the beautiful west coast of Scotland.

Some of western Scotland's most outstanding coastal scenery lies just steps away from Melfort Village, a cluster of 19th century stone cottages near Loch Melfort's shores. The first two weeks of January are the only weeks of the year when the cottages are not available for rent.

Fully equipped farmhouse kitchens are featured in all of these furnished country cottages alongside televisions and DVD players. One group of cottages is situated within the Inner Village, while the other group is arranged in a crescent shape within the old estate garden's original walls. Each group of cottages also features its own games room.

Each Inner Village cottage includes a wood burning stove or open fire as well as access to garden ground areas. Walled Garden cottages are equipped with private patios facing the gardens. Although most timeshares have two or three bedrooms, three one-bedroom units are also available.

This spacious property also contains a fully supervised indoor swimming pool, offers spa treatments, which must be booked in advance, a fitness room, and a play room behind the office building. Children under 17 years cannot enter the Gunpowder Room, a snooker lounge, without adult supervision. There is an on-site restaurant and bar called the Shower of Herring.

Manor Court Club guests have exclusive use of a fly fishing boat on Loch nan Druimnean, a nine-hole putting green, an outdoor tennis court, and mountain style bicycles which can be rented from Reception.
