Situated in a perfect location on St Lucia's northwest coast is our little bit of paradise.

Everything you would expect is there. Beautiful villas of all shapes and sizes. Laid out in a truly delightful "village" style. It really has been our blissful home from home.

Our villa has two bedrooms both en-suite with walk in wardrobes. A spacious living room and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. The maximum occupancy is 6 with a sofa bed in the living area.

There is a terrace which stretches the full length of the property. It provides an outside dining area, a plunge pool and an area large enough to easily take four sun loungers.

There is a free shuttle service which runs between the villas and the main reception area.

You can expect excellent housekeeping and a butler service if you so desire. Several restaurants ranging from a la carte, an enchanting Italian style and beach side vibes to mention a few.

There is a spa to relax in and a gym to work-out in. There are also tennis courts on site and an excellent Golf Club some 20 minutes away.

The water sports area is a very special place run by very dedicated professionals. Everything you would expect is here from fun motorised water activities, paddle boards, kayaks, water skiing, sailing, catamaran sails and of course diving.

Other activities include a kids club and fitness classes.

When it's time to relax the beach is just there a few paces down from "Jammers" with its friendly staff and amazing cocktails. A stroll along this beach is the perfect place to be, especially at sunset, so many memories of a feeling of calm.

We watched our youngest, aged 10, gain her first junior level PADI at Windjammer with the kindest and funniest instructor she could hope for. Years later we relaxed with our eldest between years at university. Time flies and wonderful memories were made but now it's someone else's turn.

Very highly rated on review sites web-wide, Windjammer Landing boasts a good variety of accommodation, appealing to both romancing couples and to families. Choose from units by the main complex near the beach or head for one of the more exclusive hillside villas, some of which have their own infinity pool and private chef.

This independent resort is noted for its professionalism and friendly staff and comprises more 300 units, from the beach right back up into the hillside. Both the single room units and the one- and two-bedroom villas are warmly attired, typically in the style of the Caribbean--think four-poster beds, tiled floors and wide windows.

The larger units have a spacious living room and dining area, together with a fully equipped kitchen featuring all mod cons. Bathrooms are equally well turned out with free toiletries and hairdryer, while those lucky enough to be in the two-bedroom villas often get a plunge pool and wide decking area.

There is WiFi internet throughout the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort, together with several swimming pools. The main complex has a massive, freeform pool overlooking the sea and there are also children's pools. The whole design is a mock up of a Mediterranean village with meandering paths and manicured gardens and waterfalls. In fact, water and foliage is the recurring theme, perfectly balancing the white sands of the pristine sea below.

The beach is just steps from the main complex and features umbrellas and kiosks, together with popular water sports activities. The snorkelling and scuba diving is excellent here and you can also play tennis at Windjammer Landing. After a hard day's bathing and resting, be sure to take in the Serenity health spa and enjoy a relaxing massage, or go on overdrive in the fully equipped gym.

You can dine casually or go formal with posh a la carte dining, with several restaurants and bars to choose from, ranging from a grill to cocktails. Nearby Reduit Beach also has good choice for eating and entertainment, while Rodney Bay features the dazzling JQ Shopping Mall. The eye-popping Pitons, just down the coast near Soufriere, make for a fun daytrip and cruise.

St Lucia's two international airports receive a selection flights from both the US and the UK.
