Our family have spent many happy holidays at Marriott Son Antem over the past 14 years. The facilities are of the highest order, and the staff are always welcoming and very capable. The two restaurants on-site provide options for dining out, although our seven grandchildren were very keen to have barbecues in the garden, and the service to provide a clean grill each day was very helpful.

There are well-stocked supermarkets in the local town, Llucmayor, only a few miles away, and the cafes in the town square provide snacks, lunches and coffees for holidaymakers and locals. A general store is on-site at Son Antem, which is open 24 hours daily.

As you can imagine, the many swimming pools have been popular with our grandchildren, and the requirement to provide a lifeguard at each meant that we were reassured regarding their safety. With a family of golfers, one of the main attractions was the availability of two very good on-site courses, which are always in good condition. The pro shop is very well stocked with quality clothing and equipment. The tennis courts are popular, and the jogging tracks and gymnasium provide lots of opportunities for fitness fans to get their daily dose of exercise.

We usually chose a week at the beginning of July as that was when our grandchildren started their school summer holidays, as the Scottish schools close a few weeks before the English ones. The Gold Holiday Week allows great flexibility in the choice that owners have in deciding when to visit Majorca. Our reason for selling now is simply that the children have grown up and expressed a preference to holiday with their friends and going on holiday with grandparents, at their age, is no longer cool.
