A fantastic 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment fixed week 10 in the Alpine Club Resort.

The apartment is on the 2nd floor of the main reception building, accessed by lift, occupying a corner position. There are balconies on three sides accessed by the two bedrooms and the living area. The apartment is one of the newly renovated ones with 2 modern bathrooms - one with a walk-in shower and the other with a shower over the bath. The open plan living area is bright and spacious with a kitchen area, dining space, and lovely lounge area with tv and a corner sofa which can be converted into a bed, so there is room to sleep a further 2 people.

The bedrooms are spacious with TVs and comfortable beds, and plenty of wardrobe space and the beds scan be configured as doubles or twins.

There is everything you need to self-cater in the kitchen - crockery, cutlery, microwave, hob, coffee maker, dishwasher, fridge etc.

The views from the front bedroom are over The Valley and mountains and a gondola, and the view from the back bedroom is onto the garden and mountains beyond. The living room window overlooks the Alpine Club resort and the mountains beyond.

Schladming is a pleasant 1.5 hours drive from Salzburg, and the Alpine Club nestles above the town on the road to Rohrmoos. There's a fabulous heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, which guests can use after a day on the slopes. The lovely staff at the reception can organise sleigh rides, massages, walking tours, book your restaurants and taxis etc. They also direct you to the ski hire shop, where you get a special Alpine Club discount on ski hire.

The convenient secure ski storage is in the basement with boot warmers too. There is also a laundry room available with washers and dryers in the basement. There is plenty of car parking on site. The Alpine Club is well run and immaculately clean, and the staff are friendly and efficient- nothing is too much trouble.

Our favourite restaurants in Schladming are Die Tischelerai and Restaurant Johann for traditional Austrian cuisine with a modern twist . Restaurant Julius is also a favourite Italian restaurant. There are so many good restaurants and bars that you will be spoiled for choice.

The skiing area of the Planai is vast and great for all levels, with a fantastic choice of mountain restaurants serving fabulous food.

If you fancy a day off from skiing then a trip to Salzburg by train is only 1 hour away or you can visit the beautiful Dachstein glacier just a 40 min drive away. Halstadt is also worth visiting with its beautiful lake.
