We chose the lodge based primarily on the outstanding views of Loch Lomond, the hills/mountains, and the Wee Demon golf course. The Cameron estate provides wonderful opportunities to view/photograph the loch and wildlife. On the estate the boat house next to the Marina has excellent meals and snacks while enjoying amazing views over the loch from the restaurant or the large outside decking area. You can enjoy a trip on the Cameron Warrior Cruiser, which is kept in the Marina. There is also the opportunity to take a sea plane trip from the Cameron jetty exploring the surrounding area. The leisure centre provides good facilities for swimming and fitness.
The Lodge has occupancy for 6 people. You enter at the back of the lodge. In the vestibule there is a shower/toilet and sink. There is a washing machine and dryer and storage cupboards. There is also a steam room. You enter into a wonderful lounge with integral kitchen and table to seat 6 people, TV, comfortable leather couches. The front wall is floor to ceiling windows with door onto the balcony both areas providing the spectacular views. The kitchen is well provisioned with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and freezer. There are plenty of glasses, dishes, and cutlery in fact everything you need to cook in the lodge. The room has a large stylish cupboard housing a pull-down double bed. This description makes it sound crowded, but the design of the whole room is the opposite with ample space all round.
The 2 main en-suite bedrooms are downstairs, one with a King-sized bed and the other bedroom with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have TVs and are furnished to a high standard.
Locally Balloch has several excellent pubs, Co-op supermarket and a petrol station. Loch Lomond Shores with Frasers department store and many other shops attracts many visitors. The area has a small nature reserve and walks around the loch shore.
Balloch Country Park is well worth the visit with extensive parkland walks, loch shoreline, mature woodland and the high ground giving views of the Cameron House estate, the loch and mountains. For bird watchers the park offers a wide range of species in the woodland, shrubbery and on the water. To explore more of the eastern side of the loch the road from Drymen leads to the loch shore and a part of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park providing excellent walking for all abilities.
For days out there are numerous places you can visit locally to suit a wide range of interests including history, wildlife, scenery and many more.
