This first-class apartment is situated on the harbour side of the hotel on the 6th floor. It therefore has excellent views of the beautiful gardens and sea. It has provided an excellent holiday venue for us since 2007. We have a great love of Madeira and its people, and we are sorry to be giving it up and at the grand age of 87 travelling is proving difficult. Weeks 19/20 are good because the Famous Flower Festival is on and there is also a vast meeting of Vintage Motor Cars on the Sea Front in Funchal - wonderful.

Funchal is excellent for food shopping, restaurants, and many activities to suit all ages. Good restaurants close to the hotel are Pau de Lune (savoy complex), Hemingway's etc and downtown there are many more in the Old Town. The Salt Factory (Michelin), Tappassol, the Forte etc. In addition, the hotel serves excellent meals both formal and al fresco.

The Employees of the Vacation Club are very good and attentive to your needs. They also arrange a get together every Tuesday morning to discuss what is on that week and a cocktail party in the evening so you can meet new and old friends. Facilities around the Savoy are secure and therefore reassuring with members.

I could write many more comments, but it is not necessary as the Savoy Vacation Club speaks for itself. Based on the Sea Front in Funchal it is the one and only place to be.
