Our 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment at this 5-star venue enjoys a fabulous position on the top floor (4th) of the carousel on the harbour side.

The very spacious well-furnished lounge area contains various chairs, a television and a large sofa bed and an adjoining dining area with table and chairs. There is also a well-equipped kitchen. The balcony is large and spacious and has a dining table and chairs, sun loungers and is accessed through double patio doors from the lounge and also from the bedroom. The main bedroom has window views straight across the Atlantic and there are double patio doors which open on to a small private balcony containing a table and two chairs.

The resort restaurant is of a very high standard with feature evenings and providing alfresco eating at all meals if desired. There are numerous lounge areas provided in the resort and a piano bar where nightly entertainment is laid on. There are also many good restaurants in Funchal, a number just a short walk away and plenty of shops close by to buy any provisions or the Funchal town centre is within walking distance.

The staff at the resort are long standing, friendly and welcoming and they keep the apartments and grounds up to a very high standard. An excellent daily maid service is provided and there is a hairdresser at the resort. The expansive pool area, looking across the ocean, contains many sunbeds and towels are provided. Nothing is too much trouble and the guest relations staff in the ground floor office are available to provide information and support to ensure a very pleasant stay.

Take a stroll along the sea front passing the cruise ships down to the old town to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and some excellent restaurants. There is a multitude of excursions, and the Island is famous for its gardens and Levada's which are well worth a visit.

The transfer from/to the airport by taxi takes about 30 minutes and this can be arranged by the resort as can the initial essential supplies you may require for your arrival.

Set within lush, sub-tropical gardens, the resort's popularity has seen the original building extended over the years and the colourful, now iconic façade with carousel and undulating balconies resonates of a more care-free age. Inside the communal areas take in the great 180° ocean views with a classy and comfortable design which exudes an ambience of a luxury ocean liner.

An extensive range of onsite facilities include two outdoor heated pools, an indoor pool and also direct access to the sea. For those who wish to be pampered, a spa with sauna and steam room offers a range of treatments whilst a well stocked gym is on hand to help burn away any excess calories!

Wining and dining here as an absolute pleasure with the Armada restaurant offering both Á la carte and buffet dining whilst the Piano bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and some quality nightly entertainment.

Out and about the garden island of Madeira offers up some great sightseeing and experiences. Take a dip in the Lava pools, sleigh ride down the steep streets of Funchal in a wicker toboggan and visit the tropical gardens of Monte Palace. For the more adventurous a trek to Pico Ruivo delivers stunning views of the volcanic landscape.
