Barnsdale Country Club is situated in the heart of England close to the pretty market town of Oakham. The resort sits on the shores of Rutland Water, one the largest stretches of enclosed water in the UK, a total of 4200 acres.

There is a wealth of activities to enjoy here: Cycling (2 cycle hire centres) with three distinct trails around the lake: 8 miles, 15 miles and full lap 23 miles. Fly fishing a passion of mine, has given me the pleasure of landing many fine Rainbow and Brown Trout over the years. You can sail here, there are organised boat trips on the lake and there is a large nature reserve at the western end of the lake, home to the Rutland Water Osprey Project.

There is an excellent restaurant on site and a wealth of traditional country pubs in the surrounding area.

The unit for sale is a week 18 (early May) this week is a particularly pretty time of year here and it is situated in a corner of the old Barnsdale Hall which is the centrepiece of this resort. Other facilities here include swimming, snooker, fully equipped gymnasium, tennis courts and a pitch and put course.

We have spent many happy times here but with a newly purchased campervan there are only so many holidays you can take. If you decide to purchase this week, I hope you have as many happy hours as we have had over the past 27 years.
