Set in glorious natural rolling countryside, adjacent to the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel Resort and Spa, with three internationally renowned 18-hole golf courses, the Glenmor development boasts a unique blend of 5-star luxury and beautiful Scottish scenery. Restaurants in and around the nearby town of Auchterarder are of high quality and, for self-caterers, well stocked supermarkets in Auchterarder and Perth are easily accessible by car.
Glen Cairn lodge (Week 25) has a Saturday changeover and will be available from June 2022. It is located centrally in the original development, a stone�s throw from the Glenmor reception, just across the stream, running through the resort. Two car parking spaces are provided nearby. All three double bedrooms have en suite shower facilities, with an additional spa bathroom, on the ground floor. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area upstairs has fine views to the Grampian Mountains, to the north, and overlooks the stream and gardens to the south. A delightful sun trap balcony for afternoon sunbathing leads off the living area. Two bicycles are provided at the lodge and The Tryst, backing onto the reception area opposite the lodge, is a meeting place and bar, offering food.
For golfers, the lodge has one green fee �gold card� included, usable on any of the resort�s courses, with tee times bookable through the club house. Any number of rounds can be played free during the week, via this card, dependent only on tee time availability and the golfer�s stamina. Buggies are available for use on the PGA Centenary Course only, which was the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup Competition. Buggies and carts are payable. The Activity Centre offers families cycling, tennis, falconry, fly fishing, tree climbing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding and deer stalking.
For those interested in wildlife, The Argaty Red Kite Centre at Doune is a must (22 minutes� drive away), as is the Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, a few miles further south. At the Scottish Deer Centre at Cupar (45 minutes away), you can also see birds of prey and otters and Osprey chicks at Loch of the Lowes, near Dunkeld, north of Perth. For those who would walk the hills and lochs, Ben Lawers, the tenth highest mountain in Scotland at 1,214m (3,984ft) and its fascinating Visitor Centre are one and a half hours� distant, to the north. The high quality theatre at Pitlochry is less than an hour�s drive (early booking of seats and the restaurant there is advised), as is the vibrant town of Perth. Edinburgh and Glasgow International airports are both a similar distance away.
