This has been our favourite apartment with a large sunny balcony and great views over the gardens to the sea. A promenade winds its way east for a couple of miles or so to busy Funchal Centre. Great for daily exercise or a pleasant stroll. A complimentary bus service runs almost hourly from the Grand to the sea front in Funchal Centre and the local busses are frequent The Forum shopping Centre is close by with shops, restaurants, supermarket, and cinema. (Films in English).

The hotel and apartments are indeed grand. The decor tasteful and comfortable.

There is an indoor pool and spa area and a large outdoor pool. Hairdresser, bar, and restaurants. We love that in February the complex is mostly adults. Calm but never dull, evening entertainments, themed dinners and a Monday night cocktail gathering for owners where you have a chance to meet old and new friends. We will miss our holidays there over the last 9 years.
