I am reluctantly selling this fixed week in a two-bedroom lock-off apartment in the beautiful Royal Savoy Hotel, where I have enjoyed many wonderful holidays.

The week that is available is Week 18, which is in early May. The apartment, which can sleep 6, is on 9th floor and has wonderful panoramic views of the sea from the balcony. Occupancy is from Monday to Monday and ownership of the week runs until 2032.

The lock-off arrangement allows the apartment to be split into two separate one-bedroom units, which gives added privacy, if required.

Owners and guests at the Royal Savoy Resort can enjoy the tranquillity of the beautifully, manicured sub-tropical gardens and its highly desirable seafront position. The resort is a short walk from the Funchal harbour and town where there are lots of good restaurants, cafes, and many interesting and varied activities, including the exhilarating wicker toboggan rides down the steep streets of Funchal and the glorious gardens of Monte Palace.

Take advantage of the resort's extensive selection of leisure facilities, including two outdoor heated pools, an indoor pool, and direct access to the sea. There are excellent dining facilities at the resort and nightly entertainment is on offer at the Piano bar. One very noticeable thing at the Royal Savoy are the lovely staff, who are very friendly and helpful and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable.

Madeira is well known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, sub-tropical plants, numerous Levada walks and temperate climate, making this island a very special place to visit at any time of the year.
