The 5-star Royal Savoy in Madeira is recognised as being an extremely luxurious resort. It has won several awards and is in an unbelievable position with stunning views overlooking the sea while being within walking distance of Funchal.

There are 2 outdoor pools (saltwater) and 1 indoor heated pool as well as direct access to the sea. In addition, there is a jacuzzi, beauty salon, gym, and sauna.

This is a studio apartment sleeping a maximum of 4. All the apartments overlook the sea and have lovely balconies. The apartment is furnished to the highest standard including good cooking facilities and the communal areas are beautifully furnished.

You can dine in the gorgeous Armada restaurant either inside or by the pool and there is also a lovely poolside bar that serves food earlier in the day. Alternatively, you can walk into Funchal to sample the restaurants there and there is also a range of gorgeous eateries just a 5-minute walk from the Royal Savoy. There is good entertainment on most nights in the Piano Bar where you can enjoy a drink.

This week is every alternate year (even years) and so maintenance fees are only required every other year. The week is in May and we have always found it easy to change weeks. We have been fortunate enough to visit during both the flower and wine festivals which are well worth seeing.

We have had some really fantastic holidays at the Royal Savoy, and we are only selling because, due to ill health, we can no longer travel abroad. If you want a taste of real luxury, then this is the resort for you.
