Over the past 30 years, we've enjoyed lots of memorable holidays at Fairways Club. In 1989 we bought a studio apartment, and then as our family grew, upgraded to a one bed apartment. The resort is family-friendly with an action-packed kids' club, first-class 18-hole golf course and 9-hole pitch and putt, fantastic central pool with island bar, friendly bars, an international cuisine restaurant and nightly entertainment. Quiet winding paths lead from the central pool back to the modern apartments. As the weather in Tenerife is warm all year round, the weeks are 'red floating' so you can stay whenever you want, either overlooking the tropical gardens, the pool or the golf courses with Mount Teide or the Atlantic Ocean in the background.

The one bed apartment is spacious, sleeps 4 people and has a large living room and fantastic balcony with plenty of room for evening drinks or a meal. It has satellite TV, a full kitchen with microwave, hob, fridge, ironing board and a bathroom with shower. There is free Wi-Fi in the open entertainment areas, where the BBQ facilities, poolside restaurant and Ninth Hole bar and nightly entertainment are. There's an onsite ATM, money exchange, car rental, tour desk, grocery store, hairdresser, massage, laundry facilities, small library, playground, games room and snack bar.

Fairways is built in the local Andalusian village style in the secure Amarilla Golf & Country Club, about 10kms from Reina Sofía, the Tenerife South airport, 20 minutes from diving at San Miguel Marina, 25 minutes from the old fishing village of Los Cristianos now with its beautiful sandy beaches, glass bottom boats, fab bars and restaurants, 45 minutes from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of Tenerife with its great shopping, amazing restaurants and open top hop-on-hop off bus, and about 30 minutes from the party town of Playa de las Americas with the Verónicas packed with nightclubs, bars, live music, shops and restaurants.

We bought the apartment in 1989 and as well as enjoying holidays at the Gold Crown Fairways Resort, which was awarded a TripAdvisor 2015 Certificate of Excellence and is an RCI Hospitality Award Resort, we've also travelled the world through exchanges with RCI and DAE, which makes timeshare ownership a great idea, as you can own a week in one resort but holiday yearly in another. We're ready to sell now, 30 years later, a little older and now living in Australia, where owning in Tenerife isn't as easy as it once was.
