Our Lodge is situated on the western side of Loch Lomond and forms part of The Carrick on Loch Lomond, a small development of luxurious lodges which enjoy beautiful views, a Spa complex, the Claret Jug Restaurant, and a Championship standard golf course.

We have owned our beautifully appointed luxury Lodge, which overlooks the golf course and has direct views of the Loch and the surrounding countryside, from new.

Downstairs, there are three large, en-suite, bedrooms, two of which have wall mounted TVs, and the principal bedroom has doors which open onto a terraced area.

Upstairs, there is a huge area which offers open plan living at its best. The fully fitted kitchen includes a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a separate sauna and a fourth bathroom. There is also a very unobtrusive pull-down bed, which means the Lodge can accommodate 8 adults very comfortably. There is a balcony to sit out on and admire the views, with a glass of wine or a cup of tea in hand. The lounge area has lots of comfortable seating, with plenty of room for everyone.

Internet access is available throughout the Lodge.

Week 9 usually falls in the first week in March, and the week runs from Saturday to Saturday. There is ample free parking just in front of the Lodge.

The Carrick boasts a number of first-class leisure facilities which people of all ages can enjoy. Among these is an award-winning International Spa, with its full range of beauty treatments, and its beautiful, open air, rooftop infinity pool that looks out over the golf course, the Loch, and the mountains beyond. The infinity pool, the steam, and hot rooms, and the jacuzzi, swimming pool and state of the art gym are all free to use by Lodge owners and their guests. An immaculate, championship level golf course is on the doorstep, (the views on a clear day are outstanding), and it is complemented by a driving range, a Golf Academy and a Pro Shop! There is tennis and squash as well, and there are also many organised activities for children to enjoy. The Carrick's sister resort Cameron House is only 2 miles down the road and has a great selection of facilities to enjoy as well. A free shuttle service is provided between the two locations.

In addition to the Claret Jug at The Carrick, there are three excellent restaurants at Cameron House, providing diners with a wide range of menus. Our favourite is the Boat House, which we always visit at least once during our stay.

The area provides wonderful walking opportunities. The trails up Ben Lomond (a Munro) can be managed by most people, and the beauty of the Trossachs National Park is not to be missed. Looking further afield, a day trip to Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, can be very rewarding. Glasgow, with its museums, art galleries and Art Deco buildings is 25 miles to the South and can be easily reached by train or car.

Glasgow Airport is about half an hour away.

Helensburgh, which sits on the banks of the River Clyde, is just a few minutes away by car. It has a large Waitrose, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's beautiful Hill House is a must see.
