The timeshare resort of Underscar is a small group of 25 luxury lodges situated on the sheltered lower slopes of Skiddaw Fell and close to Keswick with all its amenities. The resort enjoys a "visit England " 5 star rating and onsite facilities include a private health spa where you can enjoy the indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, sauna and steam room plus a small but well equipped gym. There is also a cafe bar and lounge which provides a good range of drinks and food. In Keswick, only a 5 minute drive away, there are supermarkets. restaurants and even its own "Theatre on the Lake "

Our lodge is situated at the front of the development and enjoys breathtaking views over Derwentwater and down the Borrowdale Valley. We have returned every year since we acquired it in 2002 and have never tired of the marvellous view out over the lake towards Cat Bells and beyond. The area provides a wide range of walks for walkers of all abilities from leisurely walks around Derwentwater or Buttermere to the more challenging Scafell Pike and Blencathra. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Underscar but have reluctantly decided that we are no longer of an age to be able to make full use of the resort.

The lodge has two bedrooms which are downstairs and living accommodation upstairs to take the best advantage of the panoramic views. The master bedroom, with its super king size bed, has an en suite and there is also an additional bathroom. This has a large shower that doubles as a steam room and each bathroom has underfloor heating. Upstairs the split level lounge and dining area are adjoined by a comprehensively equipped modern kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. Between the lounge and dining area is a further seating area with a comfortable double sofa bed enabling the unit to sleep 6.

Free wifi connection is available together with a Sonos music system, DVD player and Sky TV as well as TV in the master bedroom. There is a dedicated parking space for one car and additional parking is available at a small cost.

Week 15 is fixed and usually falls mid April often coinciding with the Easter school holidays . Changeover day is Saturday.

The week can be swapped, let or banked with Dial an Exchange to use credits at other resorts if necessary although we have not personally tried these. Loving Underscar as we have, we have not missed a year in the 16 years we have been going .
