Crete the largest Greek island and the fifth largest one in the Mediterranean Sea. In Crete you can explore ancient civilizations, enjoy the sun, the glorious sandy beaches of the Cretan and Libyan sea with its crystal waters, climb on the tops of the impressive mountains and enjoy the breath-taking view, walk through the steep gorges and numerous canyons to discover the exquisite scents of herbs, and taste the traditional but unique Cretan gastronomy. Crete is divided into four prefectures: Chania, Rethymno, Heraklio and Lasithi.

Villea Village Resort is in Lasithi, the eastern part of the island. Aghios Nikolaos is the capital of Lasithi and is considered by many as the most beautiful city of Crete. Aghios Nikolaos overlooks the Bay of Mirabello, and the Lasithi region has many interesting and beautiful sights, such as the mythical palm forests surrounding the stunning Vai beach, the historical windmills dotting the Plateau of Lasithi, enjoy boat trips to the tropical islands of Chrissi and Koufonisi, and discover the incredible history of the fortress on the island of Spinalonga.

Villea Village resort is located in the south-eastern coast of Lasithi, in the seaside village of Makry Gialos, built in traditional Greek style amongst olive trees and colourful bougainvillaea. The hotel is warm and friendly; it has a beautiful central garden and a large swimming pool. At a walking distance from the hotel you can enjoy the beautiful Marky Gialos beach with sunbeds and umbrellas but also taste the Cretan cuisine as there are many restaurants and tavernas nearby. At night, you should visit Villea Village Fisherman's Jack bar!!

The timeshare is a fixed week 29 - which is the starting of the peak season around mid-July - and it is large enough to accommodate four persons: one double bed and a sofa. The studio features a large bathroom, equipped kitchenette, air condition, television, and very nice veranda! There is a private parking at the entrance of the hotel.

We have really enjoyed Villea Village and Crete throughout our 23-year ownership. We have also exchanged our timeshare and visited other RCI resorts in Rhodes, Gran Canaria and Baleares.
