Our unit is part of the former Stables at the resort and is referred to as a Stable Mews apartment. It is on the first floor, fully furnished, having one comfortable double bedroom, bathroom, a nice kitchen, and a combined lounge/ dining area. The lounge benefits from a TV and DVD player and houses the extra sleeping in the form of a pull-out sofa bed. The week we have is Week 29 (July) and therefore carries a good value for RCI exchanges or similar.

Barnsdale has been an RCI Gold Crown resort for as long as we have been owners and has a delightful location overlooking Rutland Water, which can be accessed for walking or cycling very easily. It is just under an hour's drive from Leicester or half an hour from Peterborough. Nearby Oakham is a quaint and popular town with all the usual amenities to assist with self-catering. Places of interest in the locality include the Barnsdale Gardens which were created by Geoff Hamilton of Gardener's World and the National Space Centre in Leicester, to name but two.

The resort benefits from an excellent leisure club with fully equipped air-conditioned gym, a squash court and a swimming pool. Additionally, onsite there is an 18-hole crazy golf course, a 9-hole pitch and putt course and children's playground. The resort is a popular location for Weddings and other special occasions, boasting a highly regarded hotel and restaurant.
