The resort is very close to Main Street, Scottsdale where you will find an? abundance of shops, bars, and restaurants. The resort will run a shuttle to take? you there and back if you don't fancy the walk. It is free, but we gave the? driver a couple of dollars. As well as all the amenities at the Villas, you also ?get full use of the Hotel's amenities which include a Flowrider, 900 ft winding? lazy river ride and 110ft water slide. It even has an adult only pool featuring ?lap lanes for fitness swimming, hot tub, and private cabanas. Unlike the other? pools, this one remains open 24hrs a day.

The resort also has 9 different restaurant options, several bars, and a mini deli where you can get Starbucks coffee, hot breakfast ?items, freshly made salads, a selection of made-to-order Paninis and even freshly popped gourmet popcorn. There is live music from very talented local musicians on a Friday and Saturday? night along with the traditional sounds of Master Bagpipe Player Michael? McClanathan at sunset every evening.

For the Golfers, there is The Westin Kierland? Golf Club, which has received many awards and accolades including the Arizona Golf Course of the Year 2017 from the likes of Golf Advisor, The National Golf Course Owners Association of America and Golf Digest. The course is always in top condition and unlike other resort courses, caters for all abilities. As an owner you get a reduction in green fees - remember to mention this when you book your tee time. The course also offers several novelty methods of getting around the golf course. Since we were last there, Westin Kierland Golf now offer some novel ways of getting around their magnificent course. Segways (which is a 1st), Golf boards (an electric board similar to a skate / surf board), Golf Bikes and Turfriders (a 2 wheeled scooter with fairway friendly wheels). Not far from the resort is The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale - It looks a bit different from watching on TV but still a phenomenal experience.

Away from the resort, there is a huge variety of other stuff to do. National Parks, Museums, Sightseeing Tours, White Water Rafting, Wild West Jeep Tours, Hot Air Ballooning and for the kids (and big kids) there is Cracker Jax Family Fun & Sports Park. 28 acres of family fun including karts, bumper boats, miniature golf, 18-hole professional Putting Course (for the big kids) an Amusement Arcade and Tennis Courts.

There? are several options to get to Scottsdale from the UK. You can fly from the UK to Arizona, Las Vegas, or Los Angeles. We flew from Heathrow into Las Vegas and drove down to the resort (approx. 4hrs) and on the way you bypass the Grand Canyon. This is a must see although it is best to spend a couple of days there. We stayed a night in Las Vegas on the way home, took in a show, did some sightseeing and even won a couple of dollars! As our flight home wasn't until the evening, we drove the 30miles to the Hoover Dam and spent a very enjoyable couple of hours viewing the dam and walking round the museum.
