Located on the Coventry Canal just a short drive from Tamworth, the timeshare narrow boats at Alvecote Marina give a peaceful trip back in time to the days when England's canals served as transportation for agricultural and manufactured products. Their long, narrow hulls contain fitted kitchens, living spaces and one or two tiny bedrooms, furnished with everything for a unique timeshare holiday.

Although it's possible to stay moored in the marina and just enjoy the unique experience of living on a traditional narrow boat, it's more fun to travel along the winding canal with its many locks to Coventry, Nottingham, Stoke-on-Trent or Leicester, all reachable within a week. Power is provided by batteries, fresh water is stored in a holding tank and cooking on the kitchen's hob or in the oven is by bottled gas.

Your journey takes you through villages and the rural countryside, and tying up every night at a different canalside pub for an evening meal is one of the highlights of a narrow boat holiday.
