The nearest large town (about 40 minutes' drive) is Cartagena where there are lots of good quality shops and restaurants and a vibrant harbour. Also, of particular interest is the remains of a Roman amphitheatre which was only discovered in the 1960's.

The accommodation is of first class standard and the permanent staff at the location are excellent. There are plenty of restaurants on the wider La Manga complex and in local towns. La Quinta has its own dining facilities too.

The weather is very predictable with some 300 days of sunshine a year thus facilitating three excellent and challenging golf courses (North; South and West Courses-well worth a look at on line); there are also squash courts ;17 tennis courts; a gym and large spa as well as swimming pools.

The local people are very friendly, and English is widely spoken.
