Pestana Promenade Hotel - Madeira was newly built in 2008 and is part of the family owned group of hotels in Portugal, Madeira, Brazil and London.

It is as the name suggests located on the promenade adjacent to the sea and provides pleasant walks in both directions with numerous bars, cafes and views. The hotel is approx. 2 miles west of Funchal, the capital of the island.

Funchal is the home to a wonderful fish and flower market and a tourist port frequented by large liners. There are boat trips also available from here with dolphin watching the most popular. There is also a cable car going up the mountain behind the town where the famous sledge rides start and where the famous Monte Garden are located.

There are plenty of local buses that go to all parts of the island (bus stop by hotel entrance)., The main car hire firms are also available with many coach/minibus excursions on your doorstep. Many of the places have have not changed in 100 years. Sail, play golf, and walk the lavadas. Go inside the volcano, stand on the 2nd highest sea cliffs in Europe, visit the Casino and the theatres - there is lots to do.

The studio apartment in the hotel is air conditioned/heated. It is equipped with fridge, hotplate, microwave, kettle, dish washer and ironing board as well as the usual kitchen equipment. A large double bed, TV and a good sized bath en-suite. The balcony overlooks the pool complex (3+ 1 inside) the poolside bar and the sea. There is also a health suite. The apartment sleeps two and is located on the second floor (lift) , along the corridor is an owners lounge, library and computer facilities with large screen TV. and Gym.

The hotel has a large bar where evening entertainment is frequently held and there is an area for dancing. The hotel also has two restaurants., WiFi throughout. Car parking is available in the hotel basement. The room is serviced daily except for Sundays when it is change of linen and towels only.

It is just a short walk to a supermarket for your provisions if required.

It is possible to bank these and take them at another time and it is also possible to exchange these weeks to another Pestana world wide resort so it is quite flexible. So with 20 years still to run you could purchase a real family asset.
