The Residence is part of the Porto Bay group and alongside the Villa Potte Mare hotel. It has a 4-star rating and RCI Gold Crown resort. We have been going there for the last 11 Years and love it but there are lots of other places in the world to see.

The apartment has everything you would need it has a fully equipped kitchen with oven/hob both electric. All utensils etc are provided it has toaster, coffee machine and a fridge with ice box.

In the lounge area is a dining table and 4 chairs plus sofa which is a sofa bed which is put out for you by the housekeeping staff who attend the room each day to clean, make beds, put on dishwasher etc.

The room has a patio area with seating and leads directly onto a garden area, which only a few rooms have this luxury and access to, on the garden area are sun loungers and parasols. There is a gorgeous view out to the sea from the garden.

In the bedroom is a huge bed with TV also built in wardrobe and safe, dressing area and access to the bathroom's. The bathrooms have a bath and sink in one or a walk-in shower, sink, toilet in the other. Gowns and pool towels are provided. Water in the room. Fruit on arrival. Wi-Fi is available at small cost Tea and coffee supplies in room.

In the resort are numerous restaurants which you are free to use and can charge to your room. You are a 25 min walk away into Funchal - you have many lovely traditional restaurants close by the resort. There is a local shopping mall approx. 15 min away with brands such as C and A; Pull and Bear, McDonald's, H & M.

There is a local supermarket less than 5 min away and you get to it by walking through the hotel complex if you didn't want to go outside!

The weather in Madeira is constant and during this week is around 26 degrees on average.

The staff have become our friends and they are there year in year out which says a lot!
