Underscar is a first-class development consisting of just 26 properties located within the old walled garden of an Italianate mansion just 2 miles from the lovely town of Keswick Cumbria.

Situated on the southern flank of the Skiddaw range, its slightly elevated position affords wonderful views of Derwentwater and the North Western fells.

Our property is a 2-bed 2-bath cottage which will sleep 6 if using the pull-out bed in the lounge. The resort has a first-class leisure club which includes a swimming pool, gym, sauna/steam room and a day spa, about a 2-minute walk from the property. There is a popular bistro on site serving delicious reasonably priced local food.

We are selling our fixed week in January, and although this is winter it is a wonderful time to enjoy the lakes, snow on the fells, half empty pubs and a warm welcome everywhere.

There are many walks directly from the property including a leisurely footpath to Keswick (2 miles) to the more challenging option of Skiddaw itself, and many in-between. The area is also a sanctuary for the increasingly rare red squirrel, they are actively encouraged around the Underscar complex by the many feeding stations. We manage to see them on every visit!

The lakes are very much an all year-round destination, we have had 16 fantastic years at Underscar walking the fells and enjoying the hospitality of the local pubs, we are selling reluctantly for personal reasons.
