A wonderful opportunity to own a luxury timeshare in the beautiful Langdale Hotel and Leisure complex in Elterwater, Great Langdale for calendar week 12 in late March (which often falls just before Easter).

Mere Beck, a Windermere Scandinavian-style Lodge, is on 2 floors and sleeps up to 6 people in comfort. Children are welcome, pets are not. It's in a great location since it overlooks the Great Langdale Beck, in a quiet part of the Estate, yet is only 20 yards away from all the facilities housed in the main buildings of the leisure complex with its restaurants, pool and spa.

The Langdale Estate, a former gunpowder factory, comprises the timeshare lodges and apartments, Brimstone - a 5 Star Hotel, Therapy - a 5 Star spa, Langdale Hotel, pool, gym, Stove AA @ Rosette Restaurant and bar. All of this is set in 35 acres of lovely well-tended surroundings, using many of the original buildings of the old gunpowder factory, with a system of canals running peacefully though it. There is a children's play area on the opposite side of the estate from Lodge.

The Langdale web site has an interactive map of the entire site, and for the Windermere lodge, a floor plan and 360' camera view of the main rooms.

The Lodge has allocated parking for two vehicles, and is fitted out with an emphasis on high quality furnishings and luxury fittings. It benefits from having had a recent total refurbishment - new bedrooms and bathrooms were added in 2016.

Downstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a whirlpool bath and a separate shower; a twin bedroom with en-suite shower; and also a very useful drying cupboard! There is plenty of storage in the bedrooms, and ample towels and bed linen are provided.

Upstairs - which is mainly open plan - there is a fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary utensils and crockery. Equipment includes a Neff oven and induction hob. Neff dishwasher and a very useful wine cooler! (Washing machines, if needed, are 50 yards away from the lodge). There is a dining area and living room with leather sofas, satellite TV, DVD/CD player and radio and free Wi-Fi. A pull-down double bed is integrated into the furniture. There is a further bathroom with a shower and a sauna room. The living room opens out onto a balcony, which looks over the Beck. It's a great place for spotting some of the local wildlife around the beck.

Elterwater - the "gateway" to Great Langdale - is a beautiful valley in the centre of the Lake District with great facilities, pubs, and restaurants. There is a handy local shop a pleasant stroll away from the Langdale estate near the Wainwrights pub in Chapel Stile. Ambleside, with all its amenities is a 10 minute drive away, as is the beautiful village of Grasmere.

It really is a lovely area, and the week normally has good weather. In 5 years of ownership we've had 25'C sunshine everyday one year, and 12" of snow the next! There has generally been very little rain, though we did get snow the once which transformed the scenery which is already very beautiful into something even more lovely for a couple of days.

This timeshare has a shareholder share attached to it, which gives the owner a discount off the annual maintenance fees. Timeshare owners also enjoy many discounts on spa, restaurant and bars on the Langdale Estate.

There is a great deal of flexibility about the timeshare. It can be used as an investment and rented out. Or, if for any reason you cannot use your timeshare week, you can swap for other weeks. If you wish to sell the lodge, you can, or you can leave it to someone you love in your will.
