Umhlanga Sands is a very popular four-star resort situated ten minutes north of Durban, South Africa. Operated by Africa's premier hotel group Tsogo Sun (used to be Southern Sun). Umhlanga Sands offers excellent accommodation and facilities for both adults and children, indoors and outdoors. Situated on a lifeguarded and sandy beach popular with swimmers and water sports enthusiasts, the resort offers spectacular views overlooking the warm Indian Ocean.

The unit itself is of a high quality and is both comfortable and practical with two bedrooms and a sleeper couch in the lounge. Enjoying unobstructed views of the ocean the unit is sufficiently high up in the building not to be disturbed by noise from the pool and entertainments area. Apartments are serviced by four lifts and there is secure parking on site for unit holders.

The unit is for the end of October - the last week of Spring and before the humidity of summer sets in - temperatures you can expect are in the upper 20's with sea temperature around 20 degrees.

Timeshare owners have the ability to offer their unit for rental, sold as hotels rooms and your levy or part thereof is refunded or to be banked with Sunswop which gives you access to all of Tsogo Sun's resorts throughout South Africa, as well as resorts operated by other groups including gold, beach, and wildlife facilities. All Tsogo Sun timeshare owners are also registered with Interval International, the Marriott owned timeshare company giving you access to more than 3,000 resorts internationally and most importantly the unit doesn't give you points but rather provides you with a like for like swap - so we have in the past used the luxury Marriott's in Spain, our week swapped for a week there and anytime of the year subject to availability (much cheaper than owning a Marriott timeshare unit).
