The Royal Savoy is a popular and well managed resort conveniently located between the traditional old town of Funchal and the extended resort areas now developed on the western side of town. It is of 5 Star standard and unlike many timeshare resorts, it has a strong feel of being a prestige hotel, first and foremost.

It is located directly on the coast, with sea access from a private Lido. There are two good sized outdoor pools, and a heated indoor pool with gym and spa facilities attached. There is also a pool bar and a pool side restaurant, and well-furnished and comfortable lounge areas.

A piano bar and a full-service restaurant serve the evening needs. The resort is easily reached from the airport, by public or private taxi, or by an airport bus service which stops just outside the main door. If car hire is preferred, the hotel has a car park on site. The immediate area is well served with bars and restaurants, with further options a walk or taxi away.

The apartment offered is located on the first floor, a good distance from the central bar and restaurant areas. As such it is in a quieter part of the hotel. Views extend from a private balcony across gardens, terracing and the pools to the sea beyond. Whilst technically a fixed week in early October, the resort does offer an internal exchange system, subject to a small fee and availability, should owners wish occasionally to experience the Island in another season. Access to the Interval International Timeshare Exchange Network is also open to owners.

The apartment sleeps two in full privacy, whilst a drop-down sofa bed is available to sleep two additional guests.

The apartment is well set-out with the accommodation split into three distinct areas - An entrance hall with large wardrobes, with a private bathroom off; a bedroom area with further wardrobes; and a comfortable living area and kitchenette, leading onto the balcony through double glass doors. Air-conditioning, fridge, hob and microwave/convection oven and dishwasher are included, and the apartment is well-equipped for simple self-catering. There are large TVs in both bed and living areas.

We've had many happy holidays both in this resort and in exchange resorts around the world. Having now retired, we now travel more frequently and widely, so we've reluctantly decided to offer our weeks for sale.
