A fantastic Resort with a genuine African Bush feel and experience! The Resort is a secure, Private Game Reserve situated in the foothills of the Waterberg Mountain Range, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. It is situated West of the town of Bela Bela, 47km away, and is approximately 200km North of Johannesburg, approximately 2 hours' drive. (or approximately the same distance and driving time from Johannesburg's main airport, O.R.Tambo). Our Unit has a maximum Occupancy of six, having two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two convertible "Sleeper Couches". There is a dining suite indoors and outdoors table, chairs and two recliners on the patio.

The week is classified as a "Red" Week and falls at the end of Summer (generally, 3rd week in March), when the weather is still reasonably warm but generally fine. The chalet is all on one level, with a "Boma" ("stockade") outside for outdoor BBQ's, especially at night with a beautiful starry sky overhead. The front view from the full-length sliding doors, looks out over the Modjadji Plain, where antelope and other animals can frequently be seen. There is a carport outside the unit.

Mabula Timeshare is an RCI Gold Crown Resort and has had similar status for many years; consequently, is very popular with visitors from all over the world. As part of the RCI family, the Unit can be banked or swapped in any year, for other Resorts worldwide (subject to availability). We have owned our Unit since late 2005 but due to personal circumstances we very reluctantly must now put it on the market (& will be extremely sad to see it go to new owners, but that's life!).

There are three main Camps, as well as the Main Lodge units, and our unit is in Modjadji Camp, adjacent to the Modjadji Entertainment complex. Highlights include:
A total Resort size of some 12000 Hectares, including a separate section (about 2000Ha ) for the Lion enclosure (the lions hunt for themselves, they aren't fed!). The Reserve is home to the Big Five (Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Elephant, and Rhino) as well Cheetah and many species of antelope, giraffe, hippo, and many smaller game species. There are many bird species (approximately 300), several of which are regularly seen at the Units, and bird-watching is a great Mabula activity.

Our Unit includes 24 "Game Drive Credits" (4 per occupancy), enabling guided Game Drives to be taken on the Reserve's Land Cruisers; an essential part of the holiday! Additionally, different Game Drive experiences are available (some at additional cost), including: Bird Drives; Breakfast Picnic Drives; Night Drives; Lion Drives, horseback and quadbike Game viewing and many others. (most of which we have also experienced, enhancing an already fabulous holiday).

Each Camp has a swimming pool and some (including Modjadji) have additional facilities like BBQ areas, Volleyball facilities and other activities to enjoy. A BIG highlight is the weekly (Monday evenings) Modjadji Braai (BBQ), where guests from all over Mabula enjoy a "Bring and BBQ" around a HUGE pile of charcoal (made from locally gathered firewood); also, a weekly "meet the Management" gathering at Modjadji for an informal talk and tea/coffee/scones/sandwiches, etc.

There are Restaurant and Bar facilities at the Main Lodge complex, although the Unit has a fully-equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer; most Guests bring groceries and foodstuffs from Johannesburg, or there are large Supermarkets available in Bela Bela. There is a small Superette at the Main Lodge which stocks most essential goods and a selection of groceries, foodstuffs, and drinks.

We have been coming to Mabula almost every year since 2006 and have enjoyed every visit immensely. We hope that the Purchaser will enjoy it just as we have, for many years to come!
