There are many beautiful places to enjoy in the wonderful Lake District and Underscar must rank as a jewel in the crown. It is a small development of one, two and three-bedroom luxury lodges set on the approach to Skiddaw with amazing views over Keswick and Derwentwater.

THIS LODGE has two bedrooms on the ground floor and is situated on the front of the site. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and TV and an en-suite bathroom with heated flooring. THE GUEST BEDROOM has two single beds and is next to the family bathroom which houses a double shower unit (which doubles as a personal steam room) and has heated flooring.

ON THE UPPER FLOOR, you will find an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with balcony and it is from here that you can enjoy the fantastic views. THE KITCHEN in this lodge has been completely refurbished in the last few months, including all appliances. THE DINING ROOM furniture has also been replaced with a beautiful handmade table and chairs (the chairs had yet to arrive when we were there). THE LOUNGE furniture includes a sofa bed which means an extra two guests can be accommodated in comfort. There is an HD TV with Sky Sports and film channels, (which can also be viewed in the master bedroom) and a DVD player. There is also a Sonos music system which plays via Wi-Fi from your own devices and operates throughout the lodge with independent controls in each area.

In addition, owners have the use of Oxley's Spa and Bistro. Owners and their guests can enjoy the pool with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi at no extra charge.

There is dedicated parking for each lodge and Keswick town is just five minutes by car. There you will find everything you need including supermarkets, eating places, a cinema, museums, and other activities including the lovely Theatre by the Lake.

Underscar is a very special place and is well worthy of its five-star status which has only recently been confirmed again after inspection. We have enjoyed each of the sixteen years we have owned this gem and have never missed our week. There is the opportunity to exchange through the company D.A.E. and, for those who are tempted, every week at Underscar is rated at the highest value, Red.

We have found the time of year most enjoyable, with less crowds and traffic and you can always find somewhere to park when you are out and about, exploring.

Sadly, the ageing process has crept up on us and it is now time for someone else to enjoy this unique place and the luxury and peace it offers.
