The apartments at Atlantic Garden are only two stories high. With lots of gardens, grass, and palm trees, it feels very spacious and relaxing, lots of room for everyone to enjoy the two large pools and a third shallow children`s pool. Our ground floor apartment has sliding patio doors at one end of the living room which open out onto a private patio. From here it`s only a few meters to the swimming pools, with lawn and palm trees alongside providing some welcome shade in the hottest weather.

Week 39, available this year, 2017, falls at the end of September and with a Saturday changeover, you can have a full week's holiday here whilst only needing to book five working days, unlike with weekday changeovers! Next to the resort is a large shopping centre, El Campanario, with lots of shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants to add even more variety to the facilities in Atlantic Garden.

The resort is on the outskirts of Correlejo which can easily be reached by walking or riding on the "road train" which runs continuously around the town. The town has lots of character, a working town and harbour as well as catering for holiday makers. It has many good restaurants, some by the waterside, serving excellent reasonably priced food, fond memories of eating outside next to the sea! It`s fascinating wandering around Correlejo, especially in the evening, with lots going on. On one occasion, we bought an amazing painting from a street artist done with aerosol paint cans!

There is a regular ferry service to nearby Lanzarote from the harbour and it is well worth taking a trip to see the Timanfaya National Park, a rocky "lunar landscape" created by an erupting volcano three hundred years ago, the ground is still warm in places!

A mile or so from Atlantic Garden is the magnificent Sand Dunes National Park. Stray away from the main road and into the huge dunes and it`s like being on the film set of Laurence of Arabia! Where the dunes meet the sea, there are miles of golden sandy beaches offering all kinds of water sports. The whole island of Fuerteventura is an explorer's paradise with many superb beaches all round and a mountainous rocky interior.

If you don`t fancy going to Fuerteventura one year, you can always bank the week with Interval International and exchange to resorts around the world........
