Our studio is at The Royal Savoy Vacation Club, Funchal, Madeira.

We have week 15 which starts around mid April and normally is a pleasant temperature. The studio is on the second floor and overlooks the swimming pools and sunbathing areas with the sea a short distance beyond. The balcony provides the ability to breakfast and sunbathe without leaving the apartment if preferred. The hotel organises a taxi to and from the airport about twenty minutes away. The island is very peaceful and we have never experienced any problems or disturbances over the years we have been there.

The centre of Funchal is only a ten minute walk away with a frequent bus service. Funchal is famed for its flowers with many gardens to visit. Our week frequently occurs when the famous flower festival takes place embracing the whole local population. There are countless places to visit and great walks to take.

Although the hotel has an excellent restaurant and a range of themed evenings followed by great artistes performing, we often ate out either at one of the many local establishments or went into the old town of Funchal to one of our favourite quality restaurants often eating outside.

Usually the morning after we arrive, we meet up with our appointed representative who advises of what is happening during the week ahead and will arrange any trips or special requirements. The great majority of timeshare owners at The Royal Savoy are professional people and there are very few children amongst the guests.

Professional staff are on hand with the spa being particularly popular providing treatments and hairdressing facilities. There are two good golf courses on the island and bookings can be made at the hotel desk.

In summary Madeira offers a safe, friendly and warm destination with The Royal Savoy being probably the best place to stay.
