Set just outside the ever-popular Spanish Costa del Sol sun, sea and sand city of Marbella, the Aloha Villas Owners Club’s timeshares are found in quiet, manicured gardens three kilometres from lively Puerto Banus marina. Traditional Andalucian design typifies the five-star, two-bedroom villas, sleeping up to six people.

Well-designed, fully-equipped kitchens with dishwashers, washing machines, fridges and cookers, luxury ensuites with showers and tubs, air-conditioning, terraces with great views over the golf course are all part of the experience here. Swimming pools have pool terraces and the beach is a short drive away.

A car is useful here, as public transport is by infrequent buses. Close by you’ll find several restaurants and quaint bars, and there’s a casino three kilometres away. Live entertainment, a good choice of eateries, boating and fishing and limited shopping is found around Puerto Banos.

Marbella is famous as a Mediterranean tourism centre, and is one of the Costa del Sol’s most-visited resorts. Its old quarter boasts pretty churches, heritage buildings and rows of quaint souvenir shops and tapas bars as well as a few very fine restaurants. There’s a choice of shopping malls, but the street markets are fun and deliver bargains at all levels.
