We fell in love with this beautifully appointed detached lodge 12 years ago on a chance short November weekend trip to Cameron House Hotel. I had previously worked on the renovation and relaunch of the 19th century paddle steamer "Maid of the Loch". And there it was, moored on Loch Lomond in full view from this lodge's veranda, against a backdrop of splendid autumn colours, snow sprinkled mountains, sparkling water and a marina filled with multi-coloured boats. We were smitten!

Our brick and timber built lodge is set in a superb elevated position on the estate directly accessible from its private landscaped 2-car parking area. The whole house has just been completely refurbished in a contemporary style in December 2015 with entirely new furniture and carpeting throughout, two bedrooms and three split new bathrooms. You walk through the entrance lobby into the spacious double height open plan living dining space which has a large natural stone feature wall and a brand new fully equipped kitchen with bar counter. Comfortable sofa seating, TV and music centre on the one side and dining table and chairs on the other allow easy family or entertaining space for guests. In addition, a pull down double bed cleverly concealed in a wall cupboard provides additional sleeping. There is also a walk in shower room and a fully equipped utility room on this floor. A wooden veranda with seating offering spectacular views towards Loch Lomond, Balloch Castle and the hills beyond, runs the full width of the building.

On the lower level, the lodge offers two newly refurbished and redecorated bedrooms, the master en suite with bath and walk in shower, the second bedroom with an additional walk in shower room. Again views from these rooms are towards the golf course and loch beyond.

The 5 star Cameron House complex comprising the imposing hotel building with its state of the art facilities suitable for all the family -large leisure centre, varied restaurants, the stunning Scots Bar, 9 hole golf course and gorgeous grounds - has been the perfect complement to our comfortable lodge.

The first week in November was when we first saw the lodge. It is a great time of year, often mild and always surrounded by vibrant autumn colours. Week 45 is 6 weeks before Christmas, we found it a good time to write the cards and relax before the run up to the festive season.

Cameron House is equally well situated for the great outdoors as for the bright city lights of Scotland's largest city.

There are walks on the doorstep down to Loch Lomond and just across the water, local quality shopping and further restaurants closeby. Glasgow and its international airport is a 25-minute drive or train ride away. This historic city has many museums, theatres, cinemas and shopping. The beautiful Trossachs area with its lochs, hills and many woodland walks is 45 minutes drive away. Following the A82 from Cameron House northwards along the scenic shores of Loch Lomond leads up towards the spectacular west coast of Scotland. What more could you wish for?

So why are we selling? We have enjoyed this lodge for 12 years, had great parties and friends and family visiting us here but now we are retired and live abroad for half the year so we feel it is time to pass it on to another family. No management fees to pay in 2016! We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
