Cameron House, near Glasgow in the West of Scotland is a truly luxury resort, having RCI Gold Crown status and a luxury hotel, leisure centre, golf courses, all on the banks of glorious Loch Lomond itself. Easily accessible by road, rail or air - Glasgow airport is a short distance away.

This week is in April and sometimes coincides with Easter. The lodge has two bedrooms, three bathrooms and can sleep six. The view from the balcony is of Balloch Country Park across the Loch. There are all modern conveniences as you would expect, with modern kitchen appliances, large screen TV, and parking for two cars. We have had many happy weeks here since we purchased in the early 1990s. Our lodge was completely refurbished and modernised a couple of years ago. We now think it is time for us to sell so that we can use our limited holiday time to see more of Scotland. This is with some reluctance as the location of Cameron House is special, given that you can be in the wonderful City of Glasgow or deep in a Highland glen within half on hour.
It is perfectly possible to enjoy a night out in Glasgow using the frequent and inexpensive train service from Balloch, and the next day climb a Munro - start with Ben Lomond, we did! The Arrochar Alps are more challenging but do-able for the average hillwalker. An exploration of the remoter parts of the Cowal Peninsula is rewarding, as are visits to the wonderful West Coast gardens full of Rhododendrons, Magnolias and so on in April and May.

Fine dining opportunities abound, in the City of Glasgow, in the spectacular scenery of Argyll (do not miss the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar!), and of course in Cameron House Hotel. Local farmshops sell Highland beef, West Coast seafood and many other local products which you can prepare in your lodge.

There are few places which offer the delights and sophistication of a city holiday on the one hand and rural splendour on the other, so whether you seek museums, restaurants, pubs, theatre, shopping, or lowland and mountain walks, golf or sailing on the Loch, it is all there. You can even take a seaplane flight from the jetty at Cameron House!
