Cameron HouseWeek 29 (Red), 2 bedrooms sleeps 6 SOLD
Sellers Description*
A reluctant sale of our haven of peace and tranquility, as we now live far away in SW France.
Our week in May was always eagerly anticipated since we bought in 2004 and we would just let the luxury, serenity and beauty wrap around us like a comforting blanket.
We chose a lodge at the far end of the estate because there is no traffic. The ground floor offers a double with TV and a twin room, each with en suite. On the first floor lies the spacious lounge/diner and open plan kitchen. A third double bed folds down from the wall and there is another bathroom off the lounge, complete with sauna and laundry closet. Huge squashy sofas and armchairs, B&O DVD player, TV and disc player, free wi-fi, panoramic and breathtaking views across Loch Lomond and its ever changing skies, a balcony for that sundowner. No meagre kitchen here - large fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, separate hob, a complete range of crockery, glassware and utensils, ample workspace. And a dishwasher of course.
Missing something? A problem? One call to Reception will see it resolved in minutes. Ordered newspapers are delivered each morning.
The staff are everything you could wish for and more.
Five minutes walk takes you to the boathouse marina, bar, lounge and restaurant for light meals. A stone's throw away is Cameron House hotel, with the Great Scots Bar, the Cameron Grill and Martin Wishart's gourmet dining. To work off those pounds, swim in the heated pool - and let the children splash in theirs - work out in the state of the art gym, play squash or snooker, then chill out in the sauna.
Fancy a change? Take the free hotel shuttle to The Carrick and have a swim in the huge pool, a treatment in the spa, or relax over a drink or a meal in the clubhouse.
Naturally, both Cameron House and The Carrick are a golfer's paradise.
A couple of minutes stroll from the Lodge is Lomond Shores shopping centre, featuring House of Fraser, two outdoor pursuits shops and numerous other facilities. Balloch, two miles distant, offers supermarkets, petrol stations and boat trips on Loch Lomond.
Wherever you look, the area has scenic views, walks to suit every taste, attractions too numerous to list. Loch Katrine is around 45 minutes drive. Take in the wonderful vistas, cycle around the loch or float over the calm waters on the steamship Sir Walter Scott.
Oban and the West Coast lie two hours drive away. We have everlasting memories of the Isle of Mull, Tobermory's multi-coloured houses and historic Iona. Skye is further north. Don't miss Dunvegan Castle or a boat trip around its seal sanctuary.
Cameron House - it's close to heaven.
Try before you buy - this lodge is available to rent from 7-14 May 2016!
